Future Watch: Dylan DeMelo Hockey Rookie Cards, Sharks – The San Jose Sharks have a particular model that they follow for players they sign and draft. They must be hard to play against. They have to have a passion for the game. They have to have a high ceiling and they have to be patient because there’s always a lot of talent on the big club.
At 6′-“1, 195lbs., DeMelo is feisty defenseman knows how to win puck battles. He plays a strong defensive game and he takes great angles to prevent opposition scoring chances. He was drafted in the sixth round in the 2011 NHL Entry Draft and he got his big break this season appearing in 45 games.
So far he’s been watching the big club battle their way through the playoffs and that will motivate him to reclaim a spot on the team next year if he doesn’t see any postseason action. He has the ability to do that and if he does, it will only make the Sharks that much stronger.
Here’s a scrap that DeMelo got into when he was with Worcester of the AHL:

DeMelo’s offense may come. This year he only had 4 points but he didn’t play a large role on the team. He did have a 50-point season in the OHL with Mississauga back in 2012. As he gets more comfortable with the league, that’s when his offense will begin to emerge. At 23, there’s still some room for him to grow.
Dylan DeMelo has a Young Guns rookie in 2015-16 Upper Deck Series 2 Hockey. He also has other NHL rookie cards in the following products from this year

  •  SPx Hockey
  • O-Pee-Chee Platinum
  • SP Game Used Hockey
  • Contours
  • Fleer Showcase

Trust the Sharks. They know how to pick’em. Give this guy a look and don’t forget defenseman take some time to develop.
