Future Watch: Henry Ruggs III Football Cards, Raiders – Henry Ruggs was drafted by the Las Vegas Raiders with the 12th overall pick in the 2020 NFL Draft. Many didn’t have him as the first receiver off the board but that’s what happened and now the 5-11 speedster will try and live up to the billing as an impact player.
The Alabama native starred at Robert E. Lee High School in Montgomery. In his senior year, he had 38 catches for 638 yards and 20 touchdowns in just nine games. He could have gone to any university that he wanted to but he settled on the best in his state and probably NCAA football overall.
Ruggs played as a true freshman for the University of Alabama. That doesn’t happen very often, and he had a decent impact early on. He won a National Championship and was able to clock that off his bucket list right away.
- 2017 – 12-229 – 6 touchdowns
- 2018 – 46-741 – 11 touchdowns
- 2019 – 40-746 – 7 touchdowns, one rushing touchdown
Ruggs was disappointed with is 40 time. That’s hard to believe. His 42” vertical leap and 131” broad jump certainly impressed the Raiders at the combine as well as many other teams who just never had a chance to draft him.
Collectors can find Ruggs’ pre-draft rookie cards of this talented receiver in several 2020 pre-draft football card products including: Leaf Draft, Leaf Metal Draft and Panini Prizm Draft Picks Collegiate Football. His very first cards can be found in 2017 Leaf U.S. Army All-American.
Here’s a look at how he got to where he is today in his own words:
The fastest wide receiver in college football wore the Old Spice robe when he was drafted. It was meant to shine some light on that company’s big donation to the United Way. It was $320,000 on behalf of all NFL Rookies to help with community efforts.
This guy is a must-have on a team that has just been re-branded. There’s a potential for his card’s to skyrocket if he reaches his potential.
