Jp PrestigeFuture Watch: Jaelan Phillips Football Cards, Miami DolphinsFuture Watch: Jaelan Phillips Football Cards, Miami Dolphins – The Miami Dolphins may have enough talent to challenge for an AFC East title. Jaelan Phillips, who they selected 18th overall in the 2021 NFL Draft, could be difference-maker who transforms Miami’s defense. The Dolphins ranked sixth in the NFL in sacks in 2020, behind the Bills, who won the division. This year could be a different story for the team.

Jaelan Phillips, a Redlands, California native had 31.5 career sacks, three forced fumbles, and three interceptions for Redlands East Valley High School. He was considered one of the top players in the country, was selected as a USA Today High School All-American and settled at the University of Southern California.

Playing as a true freshman is a true testament to his talent. Phillips had 3.5 sacks in that first season. At 6’5”, 266 pounds, he is a force of nature and can have an impact on any given game.

After concussions and a moped accident, Phillips medically retired from football in 2018. He enrolled in Los Angeles City College and studied music production. It seemed like this career was going to be a short one.

However, in 2019, Phillips transferred to the University of Miami. He sat out 2019 because of transfer rules, so 2020 was going to have to be his year. The big defensive end did start in 2020 and put up eight tackles and an interception.  He was voted as a Second-team All-American and Second-team All-ACC. Phillips decided to forego the rest of his eligibility to enter the 2021 NFL Draft.

Phillips is known for his motor and his ability to close on a sack with his 4.56, 40-yard dash speed. Few quarterbacks could outrun him, but he’s going to have to get the playing time to have that kind of impact. It may take a few weeks for him to earn that on a good team like Miami, but Phillips will line up in different spots. He can make big tackles, and eventually, he will get sacks.

Phillips has a cool, serial-numbered rookie in 2021 Donruss Elite Football. The action shot and the mud make the card.Future Watch: Jaelan Phillips Football Cards, Miami Dolphins

Another solid card is his 2021 Panini Black serial-numbered rookie card. He’s wearing a Dolphins uniform, so this one will be desirable.

Finally, his 2021 Donruss Prizm auto-rookie will be one that most collectors will want to take a shot at. Go big or go home.
