Future Watch: Joe Mixon Rookie Football Cards, BengalsJoe Mixon was drafted by the Cincinnati Bengals with the 48th selection in the 2017 NFL Draft. The talented running back was certainly picked early enough that the Bengals had to figure that he could be in the plans in the near future.

The San Francisco, California native had a two-year career at the University of Oklahoma. In 2015, he gained 753 yards and had seven touchdowns on the ground. He complimented that with 356 yards and four touchdowns in the air. That was a great start.

In 2016, he had 1,274 yards rushing with 10 touchdowns. He averaged 6.8 yards per carry. He caught five touchdowns good for 538 yards with a 14.5 yards per catch average. Considering he missed all of 2014 because of a misdemeanor assault charge, things were looking up for him. But, some teams passed on him when a video of the incident became public.

Mixon had 47 collegiate offers and yet with him having a record he now had to impress teams Oklahoma’s Pro Day.

So far, this season Mixon has appeared in 10 games. He’s gained 327 yards averaging 2.9 yards per carry. He had a long of 25 yards with three touchdowns. Always a dual threat, he has 23 receptions for 207 yards. That’s 9.7 yards per catch. He hasn’t gotten in the end zone through the air and he has two fumbles, one that he lost.

His rookie card can be found in 2017 Panini Flawless Collegiate Football (in his collegiate uniform), Panini Origins, Absolute Football and Playoff to name a few.

In week one he was third on the depth chart. He continues to rise up and if he walks the straight and narrow off the gridiron he could be a star in the making.
