Future Watch: Manny Margot Rookie Baseball Cards, Padres – The Boston Red Sox signed Manny Margot as a Dominican Free Agent in 2011. He started to play rookie league ball with them at the age of 17 in 2012. In 2015, he was traded to the San Diego Padres in the Craig Kimbrel deal.

In 2016, Margot was already in AAA playing for El Paso. In 124 games he hit .304 with six homers and 55 RBI with 21 doubles and 12 triples. In 2017 he made the Padres out of training camp but would he stick around?

Collectors can get his 2017 Bowman Chrome autographed rookie card.

According to his MLB.com Draft Profile:

Margot is an all-around talent, possessing a high-end blend of athleticism, physical tools and baseball savvy. His quick bat and outstanding hand-eye coordination help him generate hard contact to all fields from the right side of the plate, and his advanced feel for controlling the strike zone suggests he’ll continue to hit for a high average as he progresses. He’s a bit undersized but has good strength to his frame and should offer at least fringe-average power at maturity. Though Margot employs an aggressive approach and doesn’t strike out much, he’ll need to become more selective and draw more walks.

Not only did the center fielder make the team he excelled. In 487 at-bats he had 13 home runs and 39 RBI. He hit .263 with 18 doubles, seven triples, 17 steals and 53 runs scored. That was a great first full year in the big leagues.

Here’s a look at this talented player:

As a rookie he came in sixth in the Rookie of the Year voting. Not bad, but in a small market like San Diego there are a lot of fans who are just starting to know who he is. He’s only going to get better. He’s a true star in the making. Add him to your collection today.
