Future Watch: Max Schrock Rookie Baseball Cards, CardinalsMax Schrock was drafted by the Washington Nationals in the 13th round of the 2015 MLB Amateur Draft.

Right after the draft, he played for the Auburn Doubledays in the New York Penn League. The 5-8 second baseman hit 10 doubles, four triples, two homers and 14 RBI with a .308 batting average. That was a great start to his career.

2016 was his year. He played for two different class-A teams getting 500 at-bats and 31 doubles, 9 homers, 68 RBI and 22 steals. That got him promoted to Double-A. While playing for the Midland Rockhounds, he hit .391 with three RBI in just 23 at-bats.

Traded twice, he went from the Nationals to the A’s and now the Cardinals. The Cardinals plan to use him at 3B and possibly the outfield so they have big plans for this player.

According to his MLB.com draft profile

Schrock has shown his approach from the left side of the plate works wherever he’s at in the lineup. In his first two-plus seasons of pro ball, he had a .324 average and a .372 on-base percentage, with his .321 average and .379 OBP in 2017 each good for second in the A’s system and in the top five for both in the Texas League. He’s walked nearly as much as he’s struck out, managing the strike zone extremely well and utilizing excellent bat speed to drive the ball. He even has some surprising power, given his size, with double-digit home runs a possibility in the future.

He has a 2017 Bowman Baseball Chrome Prospects Autographs card and that’s a good way to get him into your collection.

In 2018, he had four homers and 42 RBI for the Memphis RedBirds in Triple-A. He added 22 doubles and 10 steals.

Here’s a look at his key hit to win a playoff game for the RedBirds:

He’ll get a chance to make the team out of spring training and if not could see MLB action this upcoming season. He was ranked the 11th best prospect in all of baseball. Don’t miss out on him.
