Future Watch: Owen Tippett Rookie Hockey Cards, PanthersFuture Watch: Owen Tippett Rookie Hockey Cards, Panthers – Owen Tippett was drafted by the Florida Panthers with the 10th overall pick in the 2017 NHL Entry Draft. At 6-2, 203 he already has a pro body and a pro shot to match. He could be an NHL regular in the next year or two.

He’s played three seasons for the Mississauga Steelheads. This season he has 26 goals and 54 points in just 39 games. He has 149 goals in 147 games in his OHL career so far and it’s not completely over yet.

In International play he struck gold in the U17s for Canada in 2015-16. He had eight points in six games. This past December he was cut from Team Canada’s U20 team. That may have been his last shot at that team since he could play for the Panthers next season at the age of 19. If so, the Panthers could send him to play, we will have to wait and see how that plays out.

This year Tippett started the season with the Panthers. He made the team out of training camp and played in the preseason. Then he watched a certain amount of games from the press box. Not as a punishment but to learn. See how pro’s carry themselves and travel from city to city. He did get into seven games and he did score his first NHL goal before being sent back to junior hockey.

Tippett’s 2017-18 Upper Deck Series 2. Young Guns rookie may be the best in the release. Collectors can also find his rookie card in SP Game-Used.

Here’s a look at his first NHL goal:

Florida has some great prospects but he’s their best not currently playing in the NHL. He has a chance to be a perennial all-star for the next decade and beyond.
