Future Watch: Sean Reid-Foley Rookie Baseball Cards, Blue JaysFuture Watch: Sean Reid-Foley Rookie Baseball Cards, Blue JaysSean Reid-Foley was selected by the Toronto Blue Jays in the second round of the 2014 MLB Amateur Draft. Currently ranked as the sixth top prospect in the organization via MLB.com, he has been accelerating at a nice pace.

Since 2014 this talented pitcher has thrown over 366 innings. He has 402 strikeouts and a combined 25 wins. The 6-3, 220-pound right-hander has a lot of good measurables but he has to put it all together.

Last season he played for the New Hampshire Fisher Cats. He managed to get 10 wins. He struck out 122 batters in 132 2/3 innings. His ERA wasn’t good, it was 4.12 and his WHIP was a 1.49. He needs to improve upon that this season.

Collectors can get his 2017 Bowman Chrome autographed rookie card.

According to his MLB.com draft profile:

Reid-Foley’s fastball can reach 97 mph, but typically sits at 92-95 mph with arm-side run that helps him miss bats and generate weak, ground-ball contact. Both his slider and his curveball, a pitch he picked up in 2016, have above-average potential, with the latter slightly ahead of the former, and his changeup, once fully developed, could give him a fourth average-or-better offering. Reid-Foley’s deceptive delivery and arm action make him particularly tough on right-handed hitters. ETA 2018.

Reid-Foley has had some dominant performances in his career so far. He will have a chance to make the Blue Jays opening roster this spring. That team is going through some changes and there will be chances for some players to steal roster spots.

At 22, he’s close. If he had a great offseason of training that might be what pushes him over the top. Collectors might not have thought about him but that time is now, before it’s too late.
