Grading The Stars: Hulk Hogan, WWE – There’s just something about the stars. They’re mesmerizing. Whether it’s the stars in sports, entertainment or in the sky, they captivate us with their dazzling ways and continue to shine ever so brightly for all of us to see.
In the Grading The Stars series, we’ll feature the stars of the past, present and future and grade them based on their prestige, performance and promise. Plus, we’ll highlight three cool cards of a star to collect under a certain dollar figure.
There are five grading levels of the stars: 10 = Icon (Blue Diamond), 9.5 = Legend (Platinum), 9 = Superstar (Gold), 8.5 = Star (Silver) and 8 = Rising Star (Bronze).
Today, we’ll feature a man who was and still is one of the most iconic figures, not just in wrestling, but in all of pop culture. Even though he turned Hollywood and was just “too sweet” with the NWO, most of his little Hulkamaniacs still remember his 24-inch pythons and being a real American, dude… The immortal Hulk Hogan!
Hulkamania: Beginning in the mid-80’s, Hulk Hogan was bigger than wrestling and a pop culture attraction. From his iconic entrance music to telling kids to “say your prayers and eat your vitamins,” there was nothing you could do because Hulkamania ran wild!
Greatest of All-Time?: “Let me tell you something, brother,” Hogan was the first wrestler to take wrestling mainstream and built a loyal fanbase that still follows his every move today. He’s one of the GOATs and is definitely on wrestling’s Mount Rushmore.
Future Outlook: The 69-year-old Hogan will occasionally make an appearance on WWE TV and is arguably the most popular wrestler when it comes to The Hobby. His autographs, cards, merchandise, etc. are as hot as ever with collectors, and that will only continue.
