Historic Autographs Mystery Famous American Contest Reveal – Collectors might remember that along with the release of 2021 Historic Autographs Famous Americans trading card product, the company was running a puzzle contest worth $10,000! Unfortunately, no one was able to solve the puzzle correctly (although one person did get the correct name but did not have the correct cards nor the correct order).
The cards needed to solve the puzzle were (in the correct order):
#39 Susan B. Anthony (a key is hidden in her hair; the key was used in the lightning experiment)
#95 Doc Holliday (the letter “C” on his chest, as in C-note a common reference to the $100 bill)
#25 PT Barnum (a pair of bifocals are just under his tie, a version of bifocals were invented by this person)
#75 Belle Boyd (the crest of the University of Pennsylvania is hidden in her sleeve, the UofP was founded by this person)
#14 Cornelius Vanderbilt (the British Parliament building is in the lower right corner, this person was the colonies representative for many years in Parliament)
#83 Lotta Crabtree (an envelope is on her blouse, representing the Postal Service where this person was the first Postmaster)
It should be obvious by now that the Mystery Famous American was the beloved Benjamin Franklin. The clues needed to be presented in this way because if you take the (6) card numbers (in the order shown) they reveal the GPS coordinates for Ben Franklin’s gravesite in Philadelphia – 39.9525° N, 75.1483° W.
