Future Watch: <a rel=MLB Future Watch: Alejandro Kirk Baseball Cards, Toronto Blue Jays- Alejandro Kirk was signed by the Toronto Blue Jays as an International Free Agent in 2016. The backstop was 17 at the time. The Blue Jays made a smart decision as they only had the money for one player of this designation. Good catchers are hard to develop, on average taking more time to get to the Big Leagues.

At 5’8”, 265 pounds, Kirk moves around very well. He has a good throwing arm and is a solid fielder. In 2018, while playing for the Bluefield Blue Jays in rookie ball, the backstop slugged ten home runs and drove in 57 runs in 58 games. That’s great production, and from that point on the organization expected power and run production from him at every level he played in.

In 2020, Kirk got to play in nine games for Toronto. This rookie has a lot of upper body strength. He has a smooth swing with a hint of an upswing. Kirk took care of getting his first major league homer out of the way in 2020.

In 2021, Kirk played for the AAA Buffalo Bisons who played in Trenton, New Jersey until early August and for Toronto starting the season in Buffalo. It’s crazy but true, yet that didn’t curtail the catcher. When Kirk was called up again in late July, he had a few recent home runs in AAA and that confidence showed. He hit four doubles and drove in six through August while playing well behind the plate with only one error. He gave up a few too many steals, but again, at 22, Kirk is learning on Future Watch: Alejandro Kirk Baseball Cards, Toronto Blue Jaysthe job.

One of Kirk’s rookie cards is in 2021 Topps Stadium Club. This card shows him wearing both batting glovesand a cool pair of shades. Kirk has a nice Gypsy Queen rookie on-card autograph with the classic Blue Jays logo on display. It has the makings of a very popular card once this catcher gets cemented in major league baseball.

Kirk’s 2021 Topps Chrome rookie is sweet. Again, it’s an on-card autograph. Collectors love those, especially on rookie cards, since early autographs tend to mutate over time. This card has different color variations for those who want to chase that. I’m not sure there are a ton of Kirk collectors today.  I think as fans get to see more of him and when his bat really gets going that he could turn into a hobby favorite in the next few years.

Collectors can find Alejandro Kirk cards can be found in several Topps products from 2019 to present, including 2021 Topps Gypsy Queen and  2021 Topps Chrome.
