In 2023, the organization extended his contract to keep him with the organization going forward. At the time of his signing, he was a shortstop, but he has infield versatility. The road to the major leagues was a bumpy one for him.

Before the Brewers, Monasterio kicked around with the Cubs, Nationals, and Indians. The pandemic set him back in 2020 when he didn’t play at all. However, becoming a free agent was a good thing for him.

In 2021, he played for two teams, starting with the Akron RubberDucks and ending it with the Columbus Clippers. His combined numbers were 26 doubles, 4 triples, 8 home runs, and 61 RBI with a .287 batting average. That season put him on the map. That got the attention of the Brewers who are known for developing players.

In 2022, Monasterio started the season in AA and ended it in AAA with the Nashville Sounds. His combined numbers were solid as he hit 22 doubles, 1 triple, 9 home runs, and 44 RBI with 15 steals. It was another season of growth, and he settled into second base.

In 2023, he started in AAA again. He played in 42 games, and he hit 6 doubles, 4 home runs, and 19 RBI. His on-base percentage was an excellent .410, and he notched 11 steals. Then Monasterio was called up to the big leagues. He got in 92 games hitting 14 doubles, 1 triple, 3 home runs, and 27 RBI with 7 steals. To maintain his status, he ended up playing more third base and second base as well. The Brewers made the playoffs, and Monasterio got some playing time. He got into 2 games but went 0-1. It was a big year for him. He has a compact swing will and get his fair share of home runs as a result. Be among the first to collect him.

One card to get is Monasterio’s 2023 Topps Update rookie. It’s a cool card that shows him at-bat for the Brewers where he had a big impact this season.

Another card to get is his 2023 Topps Update Rainbow Foil card. It’s a good one to add to the collection.

One last one to get is his 2023 Topps Update Gold Foil insert. Again, it’s limited, but a good way to get this collection going.
