MLB Future Watch: Arol Vera Baseball Cards, Los Angeles Angels – Arol Vera signed with the Angels as an international free agent in the summer of 2019. Since it was still July, the 16-year-old reported to the Dominican Summer League.
In 2021, Vera played in the Arizona Complex League. He hit .317 with 16 doubles, 3 triples, and 17 RBI in 38 games played. His .469 slugging percentage and .384 on-base percentage were good numbers, especially for a young prospect.
Later in 2021, he was promoted to the Inland Empire of the Low-A West League. Vera had five RBI in 19 games while hitting .280. His 9 steals and .344 on-base percentage were good but not fantastic numbers. He’s young, so that’s ok.
In 2022, Vera was back in Low-A for some extra development. That season, he had 487 at-bats. His 71 runs scored, along with 16 doubles, 4 triples, 4 home runs, and 59 RBI was a solid season. He added 19 steals. These are good numbers for a young shortstop who would add some more muscle in the coming seasons.
Vera is a tall guy who is filling out. He has long arms and long legs. When the switch hitter extends his arms, he can get the full power of his swing to go deep. His bat has a whipping action. Speed is also a part of his game. He is a player who can bunt for a base hit, and that keeps infielders honest.
Vera has tools and that extend to the infield. He plays shortstop or second base. That extra versatility could help him get to the majors a bit early if there is an injury. This top prospect won’t make the team this coming season, but next season might not be out of the question. It goes without saying, he is a must collect.
Arol Vera Baseball Cards Worth Chasing
One card to get is his 2022 Bowman Sterling Baseball Autograph. He’s pictured in his classic Angels uniform, and the autograph is a good one. Not a rush job.
Another card could be his 2022 Bowman Chrome Prospect Purple Mojo Refractor. He’s shown in the field and the colors on the card stand out. It’s a harder to get card, but it’s worth it.
One last one is his 2022 Bowman Draft Baseball base card. He’s pictured with his bat on his shoulder. The card shows him in his white uniform, and it’s a card that’s easier to get. It’s a very clean design.
