MLB Future Watch: Esteury Ruiz Baseball Cards, Oakland AthleticsMLB Future Watch: Esteury Ruiz Baseball Cards, Oakland Athletics – Esteury Ruiz is a Dominican-born center fielder who first signed as an international free agent with the Kansas City Royals. In 2017, he was traded to the San Diego Padres in a big deal.

In 2018, he played for the Fort Wayne TinCaps in A-ball. He hit 20 doubles, 5 triples, 12 home runs, and 53 RBI with a .324 on-base percentage and 49 stolen bases. That’s his biggest gift, the ability to steal bases.

In 2019, Ruiz played for the Lake Elsinore Storm in A+ ball. Once again, he filled the scoresheet with 18 doubles, 2 triples, 6 home runs, 36 RBI, and 34 steals with 45 runs scored.

2020 was a tough year for him, as he didn’t play anywhere due to the pandemic.

In 2021, he played for the San Antonio Missions in AA. Ruiz showed more power hitting 16 doubles, 2 triples, 10 home runs with 42 RBI, and 36 steals with 52 runs scored. He did a stint in the big leagues that season and went 2-4 with an RBI with the San Diego Padres.

In 2022, he played for three teams ending in AAA. He did get traded to the Brewers that season. The combined numbers for Ruiz were impressive. He hit 33 doubles, 2 triples, 16 homers, and 65 RBI with 85 steals and a .332 batting average. He did play sparingly in three games for the Milwaukee Brewers.

In the winter of 2022, he was traded to the Oakland A’s in another big deal. He only played in five games in AAA in 2023, the rest of his time was spent in the big leagues with the A’s. In 449 at-bats, Ruiz hit 24 doubles, 1 triple, 5 home runs, and 47 RBI with 67 steals, a new AL rookie record. With steals becoming important in the game, collectors should get in on him now.

One card to get is Ruiz’s Topps Series 2 Rookie. It shows him in his Athletics gear, running after getting hit, I presume.

Another card to get is his 2023 Topps Finest Rookie Auto. The autograph is sharp, and the design is terrific. The colors are wild, and the photo shows him in action batting. This will be a top card for him.

His 2019 Bowman goes way back but shows how far he’s come. It’s a nice card showing this emerging player batting.
