MLB Future Watch: Jordan Lawlar Baseball Cards, Arizona Diamondbacks – The Arizona Diamondbacks drafted Jordan Lawlar with the sixth overall pick in the 2021 MLB Amateur Draft. This 6’1” shortstop is expected to be a franchise player for Arizona, and he appears to be on the fast track to the big leagues.
Jordan Lawlar first starred at Jesuit Prep School in Dallas, Texas. He is the highest draft pick in the history of the baseball program and the eighth player from the Dallas area to be drafted in the Top 10 of the MLB Draft.
Lawlar won the Perfect Game Jackie Robinson Player of the Year Award. In 2020, his senior year, he hit .412 with 5 doubles, 4 triples, 6 home runs, and 37 RBI, which led the team. The Dallas Morning News ranked him second in the area.
Lawlar has speed, power and good fielding. All that started to show in high school, but his career took off when he played Rookie-Ball in 2021. He only had five at-bats, but he did have 1 double, 1 RBI, and 1 steal while hitting .400.
In 2022, Lawlar started the season in Rookie-Ball once again and ended the season in AA playing for the Amarillo Sod Poodles. He played in 100 games in total. He hit 18 doubles,7 triples, 16 home runs, and 62 RBI with 39 steals with a .303 batting average. His .401 on-base percentage and a .509 slugging percentage with a .910 OPS. This was a tremendous year and it proved why he is a top prospect in baseball and should be in the hobby as well.
In 2023, the shortstop returned to Amarillo looking to build on the year before. In his first 34 games, Lawlar hit 4 doubles, 1 triple, 5 home runs with 17 RBI with 11 stolen bases. He was only caught stealing once.

His 2021 Leaf Flash Light Blue Sparkle autograph card is numbered to 50 and it has an interesting autograph on the card. The photo shows his swing, so this is a solid one.
