MLB Future Watch: Junior Caminero Baseball Cards, Tampa Bay RaysMLB Future Watch: Junior Caminero Baseball Cards, Tampa Bay Rays – Junior Caminero was signed as an international free agent by the Cleveland Guardians in 2019. This Dominican is a talented infielder who has a chance to be terrific.

Caminero didn’t play in the minor leagues during the pandemic in 2020. That could have set him back, but that would be a conversation for another day.

In 2021, at the age of 17, he hit .295 with 9 home runs and 33 RBI in the Dominican Summer League. In November of 2021, Caminero was involved in a trade that sent him to Tampa. This was a big break for him since the Guardians clearly didn’t value him.

In 2022, he started playing Rookie Ball and ended up in Class A. His combined numbers were 7 doubles, 2 triples, 11 home runs, and 51 RBI with 12 stolen bases and a .314 batting average. His .384 on-base percentage and .498 slugging percentage was impressive. When the season ended, the baseball didn’t. Caminero finished out his baseball year in Australia playing for the Perth Heat. That decision would help him greatly in 2023.

2023 was a year of growth for the third baseman. He played for two minor league teams starting in A+ ball and ending up in AA playing for the Montgomery Biscuits. His combined numbers were 18 doubles, 6 triples, and 31 home runs with 94 RBI and a .324 batting average. His .384 on-base percentage and staggering .598 slugging percentage were career highs. Then he got a seven-game stint in Tampa. As a major leaguer, Caminero hit .235 with a home run and 7 RBI with 4 runs scored.

Caminero has great follow-through on his swing, and he can get power from that. He is a strong player who can golf out a home run as well. He will get better and better.

One card to get is Caminero’s 2023 Bowman Sapphire. This card has that classic design, and it shows him in his Rays gear while at bat. You can see that leg kick!

The next card could be his 2023 Topps Pro Debut card. It’s from a minor league set, so he is wearing a Charleston uniform.

One last card could be his 2023 Bowman Chrome. He is wearing his blue Tampa uniform while waiting for a groundball in the infield. Collect this guy at all costs.
