NBA Playoffs Rookie Spotlight – Western Conference – With the final seedings for the 2014-15 NBA Playoffs set, it’s time to take a look at the players who will be getting their first taste of NBA post-season basketball. This piece will focus on NBA Rookies from the Western Conference. A previous post highlights the NBA Rookies from the Eastern Conference.
But first, some overall facts. There are a total of 13 rookies on the roster of Western Conference playoff teams. Of those, only one* has seen significant playing time and putting up decent numbers-per-game. The New Orleans Pelicans are the only team in the conference without a rookie on the roster. Western Conference teams making the playoffs have three undrafted rookies, the Eastern Conference has zero. The MemphisGrizzlies and the Houston Rockets top the others teams in the number of rookies on their roster with four each.
