NFL Future Watch: 2022 NFL Draft Skill Position Players to CollectHere is my list starting with the highest drafted wide receivers. This is the first four that are must-collects for a lot of different reasons. With most of the focus in the game on quarterbacks, it was only a matter of time before wide receivers would start to become more valuable, and this draft is proof of that.

NFL Future Watch: 2022 NFL Draft Skill Position Players to CollectDrake London – The Atlanta Falcons needed a #1 receiver, and now they have one. He was taken with the eighth overall pick. The Falcons have drafted a lot of good first-round receivers. In 2005 there was Roddy White, Julio Jones in 2011, and Calvin Ridley in 2018 to list some of them. London is 6’4”, 219 pounds. When he catches the ball, he’ll get extra yardage if someone doesn’t have him wrapped up. If the ball is thrown near him, especially in the end zone, he’s coming down with it.

Garrett Wilson – The New York Jets drafted Wilson 10th overall. Did they want London? Perhaps, but maybe not. Many thought Wilson was the best receiver in the draft, and now the Jets have a receiver with great hands and good speed. His football I.Q. is very high, and his speed is good. Wilson can take a short pass and make a long gainer out of it. His routes and his work ethic will make him a favorite target of Jets quarterback, Zach Wilson in no time. Look out for Wilson and Wilson cards in the future!

NFL Future Watch: 2022 NFL Draft Skill Position Players to CollectChris Olave – This potential star was taken 11th overall by the New Orleans Saints. Like a lot of drafts, once some of the big talent starts to go there’s a run. A college teammate of Wilson, Olave had 35 career touchdowns, the most in the history of Ohio State University. He is a burner, has no fear, and is the playmaker the Saints wanted. After the catch, all it takes is one cut, and he will take it to the house.

NFL Future Watch: 2022 NFL Draft Skill Position Players to CollectJameson Williams – The Detroit Lions made the bold move of moving up to the 12th spot to get Williams. Formerly an Ohio State receiver, he transferred to Alabama in 2021. Playing in the National Championship Game was great for this pass catcher. Tearing his ACL hurt his draft stock a bit. Williams led the SEC with 15 touchdowns. Whether he was returning kicks or running after the catch, his game speed is off the charts.

We’re just getting started. Look for another group of players to collect next week.
