NFL Future Watch: Aidan O'Connell Football Cards, Las Vegas RaidersNFL Future Watch: Aidan O’Connell Football Cards, Las Vegas RaidersAidan O’Connell was drafted in the fourth round of the 2023 NFL Draft by the Las Vegas Raiders. This 6’3″ quarterback wasn’t expected to be playing in the NFL so quickly, but you never know what can happen during a season. Lady Luck was smiling on him.

The Long Grove, Illinois native played at Stevenson High School in Lincolnshire. He was a two-sport athlete playing basketball and football. His senior year he started and threw for a school record 2,741 yards and 26 touchdowns. He didn’t have a lot of colleges willing to give him a scholarship, so he ended up being a walk-on at Purdue.

O’Connell didn’t play in 2017 or 2018. In 2019, he started in three games. He threw 164 passes and completed 103. That was good for a 62.8% pass completion percentage. O’Connell threw for 1,101 yards and eight touchdowns with four interceptions.

In 2020, he only played in three games during the pandemic. He threw for 916 yards with seven touchdowns and two interceptions.

For a short time in 2021 he was the backup, but eventually won the job. O’Connell threw 440 passes and completed 315, for a 71.2% pass completion percentage. He threw 28 touchdowns and 11 interceptions. Plus, a rushing touchdown. He was named to the second-team All-Big 10.

In 2022, his senior year, he did well, but it wasn’t his best year. He attempted 1,239 yards while completing 826, for a 64.1% pass completion percentage. O’Connell threw for 3,490 yards and 22 touchdowns with 13 interceptions. He ran in one touchdown too. He got second-team All-Big 10 honors again and was ready for the NFL Draft after skipping a Bowl Game.

He was 24-39 with 238 yards, no touchdowns, and one interception. He did run in a touchdown but lost the game 24-17. Despite that, he is still one to make sure you collect.

NFL Future Watch: Aidan O’Connell Cards Worth Collecting

One card to get is O’Connell’s 2023 Score Rookie. It shows him in his Purdue gear sitting in the pocket ready to make a pass.

His 2023 Panini Mosaic Rookie shows him in his Raiders gear. It’s a shot that shows him being ready to throw, probably posed.

His 2023 Leaf Draft card is nice looking and autographed.
