He first starred at Lake Travis High School in Travis County, Texas. In 2016, he won a state championship. His receiving totals were 3,359 yards with 55 touchdowns. He was a major recruit.

Wilson eventually settled on Ohio State. He lived in Dublin, Ohio as a kid, so it was familiar surroundings. As a true freshman, Wilson played in all 14 games. That doesn’t happen very often.  He caught 30 balls for 432 yards and five touchdowns. His long was 47 yards. That was a sign of things to come.

In his sophomore year, he had 43 receptions for 723 yards and six touchdowns. His long was 65 yards. This was a pandemic-shortened season. Wilson became the second player in the history of the program to have two-consecutive 100-yard games. Wilson was voted for First-Team All-Big 10 honors.

His junior year was more normal for all players. Wilson had career highs in catches with 70 and 1,058 yards with 12 touchdowns. His long was 77 yards. He added a rushing touchdown. Wilson was voted Second-Team All-Big 10 and then announced that he would forego his senior season to enter the NFL Draft.

At the NFL Combine, Wilson ran an impressive 4.38 in the 40-yard dash, put up a 36” vertical, and had a 10’3” broad jump. Wilson is a terrific athlete with great hands, tight routes, and quick feet.

Wilson had a good camp and had chemistry with Jets quarterback Zach Wilson. When the starting QB went down, Wilson started working well with the others. That was a good sign. In his first NFL game against the Baltimore Ravens, Wilson caught four passes of the eight targets. Wilson had 52 yards receiving and a 13 yards per catch average plus, he was open a few times that were missed.

One card to get would be Wilson’s 2022 Panini Select Silver Prizm Rookie. It has the look that collectors love, and he’s in his Jets uniform getting ready to run after a catch.

Another good one is his 2022 Panini Chronicles  Optic Rated Rookie. In this one, he’s in his Ohio State gear cradling the football. It’s a very nice card and highly collectible.

One last card to look for is his 2022 Leaf Metal Draft Rookie. There are different colors. The blue is sharp and numbered to 30.
