NFL Future Watch: Jake Bobo Football Cards, Seattle Seahawks – Jake Bobo was signed by the Seattle Seahawks as an unsigned free agent after the 2023 NFL Draft. As a 6’4” wide receiver, it’s odd that he wasn’t drafted.
He first starred at Belmont High School in Belmont, Massachusetts. Bobo had a solid senior season catching 34 passes for 514 yards and five touchdowns. As a three-star recruit, he had offers from Army, Boston College, Wake Forest, and Duke. Ultimately, he chose Duke.
As a freshman, he played in all 13 games. He caught 10 passes for 167 yards and one touchdown.
In 2019, a broken collarbone delayed the start of his season. Bobo still caught 10 passes for 122 yards. His yards per game rose to 15.3 yards.
In 2020, the talented receiver played in 11 games catching 32 passes for 358 yards and one touchdown. His yards per game rose again to 32.5 yards.
In 2021, Bobo caught 74 for 794 yards and one touchdown. His long was 48 yards, and his yards per game were a career-high of 66.2. After that season, he transferred to UCLA for another season.
In 2022, he caught 57 passes for 817 yards and seven touchdowns. His yards per game was a steady 62.8. That got him ready for the NFL.
Bobo didn’t compete in the NFL Combine. He was passed over for the draft, but the Seahawks signed him and got him into camp. He’s a good route runner with good hands, but his 4.99 in the 40-yard dash isn’t very impressive. Yet, he has a game speed and knows how to get past the secondary.
Bobo has gotten into six games this season. In week six he had two catches for 43 yards against the Cincinnati Bengals. Then, in week seven against the Arizona Cardinals, he caught four passes for 61 yards and a touchdown. He caught two passes for 23 yards and added a rushing touchdown in week eight versus the Cleveland Browns.
