NFL Future Watch: Ronnie Hickman Jr. Football Cards, Cleveland BrownsNFL Future Watch: Ronnie Hickman Jr. Football Cards, Cleveland Browns Ronnie Hickman Jr. was signed as an undrafted free agent in 2023. This safety has talent. Sometimes players can slip through the draft, but the smart teams get them. In this case, the Browns are one of those teams.

Hickman was born in Manhattan, New York, and raised in South Orange, New Jersey. He was a star at DePaul Catholic High School. He played two positions in high school, wide receiver and safety. Hickman played in the 2019 All-American Bowl and then committed to Ohio State University.

Unfortunately, Hickman had an injury that lingered from high school. As a result, he redshirted his 2019 season with Ohio State.

At a big football factory like Ohio State, freshman have to find a way to play. Hickman did just that, and ended up playing on special teams. He played in five games and got five tackles in a pandemic-shortened season.

In 2021, he started in all 13 games. Hickman recorded 99 tackles, two interceptions, and a sack, and a return for a touchdown. His speed is terrific. His nickname is “Rocket,” something his dad said to him. They say it’s not attributed to his speed, but it fits so it gets mentioned frequently. That year, Hickman was named to Second-Team All-Big Ten.

In 2022, he started in all 13 games. He had 53 tackles and an interception. At the season’s end, he opted to enter the 2023 NFL Draft. Maybe the low numbers hurt his draft stock.

Hickman attended the 2023 NFL Combine, but he didn’t perform. However, he was measured. That was another strike against him, as he headed into the NFL Draft.

Hickman had a good training camp with the Browns. He was announced as a member of the 53-man roster in late August. So far, this season with the Browns, he has 22 tackles, three passes defended, and ran back a 30-yard touchdown.

One card to get is Hickman’s 2023 Leaf Draft Yellow Autograph. It’s really initials, but I do like the photo and card design.

His 2023 Score Rookie looks good. He’s in his Ohio State gear, ready to pounce. Again, it’s a well-done card.

His 2023 Panini Chronicles Canvas Creations Autograph card is cool. It has that artistic touch and a double photo of him in his Ohio State gear and a Peach Bowl jersey. The card is serial numbered to 199.

Hickman is a must-collect. He’s starting to turn it on playing within a strong Browns defensive unit.
