NHL Future Watch: Brock Faber Hockey Cards, Minnesota WildNHL Future Watch: Brock Faber Hockey Cards, Minnesota WildBrock Faber was drafted by the Los Angeles Kings with the 45th overall pick in the 2020 NHL Draft. That was during the pandemic. Some teams missed out on his talents, while others felt he was a work in progress.

This Maple Grove, Minnesota native was a part of the NTDP back in 2018-19. The defenseman only had 10 points in 35 games. His teammates were Jack Hughes, Trevor Zegras, and Cole Caufield, but he was a young player. With the U17 team, he added another 15 points.

In 2019-20, he had combined numbers of 21 points in 65 games. The offense moved up a hair. His speed and hockey I.Q. were great. However, there weren’t additional all-star games or tournaments going on during his draft year. That helps explain why he was a second-round pick.

In 2020-21, Faber attended the University of Minnesota. Playing in his home state, the rearguard managed to get 12 points in 27 games.

During that season, he played in the 2021 World Junior Championship, scored five points in seven games, and got a gold medal. When his NCAA season ended, he was named to the B1G All-Rookie Team, and Minnesota was a conference champion for the first time in six years.

In 2021-22, Faber got two goals and 12 assists in 32 games. During that year, he played in his second World Juniors, where he scored two points in five games as captaNHL Future Watch: Brock Faber Hockey Cards, Minnesota Wildin. NHL players didn’t go to the Winter Olympics, but Faber was chosen and got one point in four games.
