NHL Future Watch: Jamie Drysdale Hockey Cards, Anaheim DucksNHL Future Watch: Jamie Drysdale Hockey Cards, Anaheim Ducks – Jamie Drysdale was drafted by the Anaheim Ducks with the sixth overall pick in the 2020 NHL Draft. This fast footed defenseman has been a star wherever he’s played. I don’t say this often, but he has a chance to be one of the best in the NHL someday. He has the tools, and he started to show them off with the Erie Otters in the OHL.

As a rookie blueliner, the Toronto, Ontario native scored 40 points in 63 games. He had seven goals. Those stats got him voted on to the OHL First All-Rookie Team.

In his second season with Erie, Drysdale scored nine goals and 47 points in 49 games. He took a huge jump because he was stronger and faster. During that season, he represented Canada in the World Juniors and came home with a gold medal. In the Hlinka Gretzky Cup, the rearguard scored five points in five games.

In 2020-21, Drysdale played in the NHL and the AHL with the San Diego Gulls. He combined to have 18 points in 38 games and got in another World Juniors as well. He was dynamic at times with his skating and play on the power play. His defense and puck retrieval are very good already, and his ability to bring the puck up the ice and skate out of trouble is next level.

In his first 42 games of the 2021-22 season, Drysdale had 17 points. That’s good production, but he probably won’t be in the Calder conversation in a very crowded field. Averaging almost 20 minutes of ice time a game and his three goals all being at even strength bode well for this 19-year-old. He will be a perennial all-star and probably hit the 60-70 point mark most seasons.

The first card to get is Drysdale’s 2021-22 Upper Deck MVP Hockey Rookie card. He is pictured waiting to get the puck, and you can see the concentration in his eyes.

Another card is his AHL Star Rookie card. This card shows Drysdale in action in Gull’s gear, looking like he is headed up the ice.

Drysdale’s 2020 Team Canada Juniors Card is solid. The Maple Leaf pops on the black sweater. It shows him representing his country, something he’s done in the past and will be doing a lot in the future, possibly for their next Olympic team.
