NHL Future Watch: John Beecher Hockey Cards, Boston Bruins – John Beecher was drafted by the Boston Bruins with the 30th overall pick in the 2019 NHL Draft. His 6’3” frame, ability to get to the net, and good hands make him an interesting prospect and one of the best in the Bruins system.
Beecher played for the NTDP and really shined on the U17 team back in 2017-18. In 60 games, he had 17 goals and 24 helpers. On that team, he was in the bottom six. Matt Boldy (Wild), Cole Caufield (Canadiens), Trevor Zegras (Ducks) and Jack Hughes (Devils) were the stars of the team. Beecher played in the U17s representing Team USA and they struck gold.
The next year, he did best on the U18 team. Beecher had 15 goals and 28 assists in 63 games. In the U18s, he had four points in seven games, coming home with a bronze medal for his trouble.
In 2019-20, he attended the University of Michigan and had a nice freshman season. The winger had nine goals and seven assists in 31 games. That season got him named to the B1G All-Rookie Team.
2021 was a muted season due to the pandemic but Beecher scored eight points in 16 games.
In 2021-22, Beecher was ready to break out. He had six goals and nine assists in 34 games. Michigan was an NCAA B1G Champion. He turned pro and got into nine regular season games with the Providence Bruins scoring five points. Then he got into the postseason scoring a goal in two games.
In 2022-23 he played in Providence. He had nine goals and 23 points in 61 games. It was a learning experience. He got into four playoff games but didn’t score.
In 2023-24, Beecher still played part time in Providence scoring eight points in 17 games, but injuries happened, and he was back up with the big club. In his first 43 games, he had six goals and nine assists. There’s a good chance of this 22-year-old seeing playoff time in Boston this season.
NHL Future Watch: John Beecher Cards Worth Collecting
Beecher’s best card is the 2023-24 Upper Deck Series 2 Young Guns Rookie. It’s a nice action shot.
His 2023-24 O-Pee-Cheee Marquee Rookie has a classic look showing him in the classic Bruins black. It’s a near perfect card.
I love his 2023-24 Upper Deck Series 2 Young Guns Canvas card. It’s full bleed goodness showing some other Bruins players on it. He’s worth collecting. There is upside here.
