NHL Future Watch: Philip Tomasino Hockey Cards, Nashville PredatorsNHL Future Watch: Philip Tomasino Hockey Cards, Nashville PredatorsPhilip Tomasino was drafted by the Nashville Predators with the 24th overall pick in the 2019 NHL Draft. This versatile forward was a top scorer, and yet he slipped down to the Predators. Unlike some rookies, his development cycle has been quicker than many.

In 2017-18, he dipped his feet in the OHL playing for the Niagara IceDogs. In 61 games, Tomasino scored 24 points and got in 10 playoff games of experience.

In 2018-19, Tomasino had 34 goals and 38 assists in 67 games. His seven points in 11 playoff games was a solid performance.

In 2019-20, the forward scored 22 goals and added 35 helpers in just 36 games for Niagara then he was traded. He scored 18 goals in 26 games for Oshawa. He was ready to turn pro.

In 2020-21, he played for the Chicago Wolves. In a pandemic shortened season, he had 32 points in 29 games. Not bad for his first AHL season. During that season, he represented Team Canada in the U20 World Junior Championship. He scored four goals and six points in seven games. Tomasino walked away with a silver medal.

Tomasino can be a goal scorer or a playmaker. His speed makes him dangerous, and his ability to take on a lot of minutes makes him a very valuable player for Nashville.

When the 2021-22 season began, Tomasino had battled his way through training camp and the preseason to make the big club. In 76 games, he had 11 goals and 21 assists. His three games of postseason experience will benefit him down the road. His team was very happy with his output, and Tomasino has a high ceiling, so collectors should get on board now.
