NHL Future Watch: Tye Kartye Hockey Cards, Seattle Kraken – Tye Kartye was signed by the Seattle Kraken in March 2022. This winger went undrafted, and the Kraken inked him to a three-year contract. At 6’1”, 200 pounds, he has the kind of frame teams want.
Back in 2018-19, the prospect got his feet wet with the Soo Greyhounds. He got 24 points. It was a start. Then, in 2019-20, Kartye had a chance to change his fortunes. He had a great year posting 25 goals and 53 points in 64 games.
In 2021-22, the left wing had a career year. He scored 45 goals and added 34 assists in 63 games. In 10 playoff games, he added nine points. He was voted to the OHL Third All-Star Team.
In 2022-23, he started the year in the AHL with the Coachella Firebirds. He had a fine year scoring 28 goals and 29 assists in 72 games. In 18 playoff games, he got eight points. Kartye was named to the AHL All-Rookie Team. Additionally, he won the AHL Rookie of the Year Award. In April, he was called up to the Kraken and made his NHL debut in the playoffs, where he added five points in 10 playoff games.
Kartye was poised to have a big season 2023-24, in since teams now knew what kind of game he played. In his first 44 games, he had eight goals and six helpers. He had a chance to play in the 2024 Winter Classic against the Vegas Golden Knights and helped pull off a 3-0 win over the Stanley Cup champs.
Kartye can score around the net, and he doesn’t get pushed around. The talented prospect has no issue handing out some punishment to the opposition.
NHL Future Watch: Tye Kartye Cards Worth Collecting
One card to get is Kartye’s 2018-19 Upper Deck CHL Star Rookie card. He’s pictured in his Soo sweater.
Another cool card is his 2021-22 Upper Deck CHL Blue Card. It’s a different sort of card that stands out, and once again it’s fun to collect his junior cards.
One last card is his 2021-22 CHL Exclusives. The card is numbered to just 100, and in a few years, it could be a nice chase card.
Expect his first NHL rookie card this year. Right now, collectors have a chance to get ahead of that release. Expect bigger things later this season and next. At 23, he’s close to having a peak season that will come in due course.
