Off The Post: Alex Newhook Hockey Cards, Colorado Avalanche – Selected with the 16th overall pick in the 2019 NHL Entry Draft by the Colorado Avalanche, the St. John’s, Newfoundland native Alex Newhook is a fast and creative playmaker, who is in his second season with the Avalanche.
At 5-foot-10, 190 pounds, Newhook has displayed his offensive abilities at every level; Whether it was in juniors, at Boston College, in the AHL or NHL, Newhook has been a big contributor to every team he’s been on.
During his rookie season with the Avalanche in 2021-22, he recorded 13 goals and 20 assists (33 points) in 71 games. He was also a solid contributor during the Avalanche’s Stanley Cup Championship run, as he played in 12 games and dished out four assists.
Currently in his second full season with Colorado (he debuted with the Avalanche in 2020-21 where he played in six games), the 21-year old Newhook has played in 23 games to date and has done well netting six goals and three assists.
In a recent 5-3 loss to the Philadelphia Flyers, Newhook scored two of those six goals in defeat for the short-handed Avalanche. The Avalanche were without at least seven of their regulars against the Flyers on December 5th.

Newhook’s official NHL rookie cards can be found in 2021-22 Upper Deck hockey card products. In addition to his fantastic rookie cards, Newhook also has Team Canada cards in 2019-20 Upper Deck, as well as AHL cards in 2020-21 Upper Deck AHL.
For those interested in Newhook’s cards, there are a variety to choose from at varying prices on the secondary market. Like most players, Newhook’s most popular card is his 2021-22 Upper Deck Young Guns rookie card.
The Young Guns rookie card of Newhook is very affordable. A raw version of the card currently sells in the $5 – $10 range, while a top-graded version (PSA 10) sells in the $35 – $50 range. There are also more expensive versions of the Young Guns card including Young Guns High Gloss /10, Young Guns Exclusives /100, Young Guns Clear Cut and Young Guns French Variant.
