The 6-foot-3, 195-pound Malkin was a part of three Stanley Cup Championship teams with the Penguins (2009, 2016 and 2017) and won the 2009 Conn Smythe Trophy. Prior to his accomplished NHL career, Malkin also starred in international play. He competed for Russia in two IIHF U18 World Championships and three IIHF U20 World Championships, capturing one gold, two silvers and one bronze medal.

In addition to his Stanley Cup success, the seven-time All-Star has collected more NHL hardware over the years, including the 2007 Calder Memorial Trophy (Rookie of the Year), 2012 Hart Memorial Trophy (MVP), 2012 Ted Lindsay Award (Most Outstanding Player) and won the Art Ross Trophy (league leader in points) twice (2009 and 2012).

Entering the 2022-23 season, the 36-year-old Malkin had 444 goals, 702 assists in 981 career games. So far this season, Malkin has registered 12 goals and 22 assists in 37 games.

While it has been an up-and-down season for the Penguins, one of the highlights for the team so far is they participated in the annual Winter Classic at Fenway Park. It was the fifth Winter Classic Malkin has participated in, and even though the Penguins lost to the Boston Bruins, 2-1, it was an amazing atmosphere and tightly contested game.

Prior to the 2023 Winter Classic, Malkin, who had his son with him, talked to the media at Penguins practice about the annual NHL spectacle. In this clip, captured by our own Russ Cohen, Malkin discussed his childhood and how he played outdoor hockey when he was a kid.

Malkin’s official NHL rookie cards can be found in 2006-07 Upper Deck and Panini hockey card products. In addition to his incredible rookie cards, Malkin also has amateur cards when he played for Russia starting during the 2003-04 season.

Like most players, Malkin’s most popular card is his 2006-07 Upper Deck Young Guns rookie card. A raw version of the card currently sells in the $175 – $250 range, while a top-graded version (PSA 10) sells in the $550 – $650 range.

He has plenty of rookie card options to choose from. However, some are very pricey, as they may feature an autograph and/or memorabilia. There are a lot of other great cards of Malkin to explore as well. For those interested in Malkin’s cards, there are a variety at varying prices on the secondary market.
