Elias Pettersson: Center – Vancouver Canucks

Pettersson has been playing overseas for years. In the SHL he had an amazing 56 points in 44 games and 19 points in 13 playoff games. He won the SHL Rookie of the Year, the season MVP Award and Playoff MVP honors. If you combined the two, he had 34 goals. This talented Swede is a puck distributor and a goal scorer.

In international play, he had five goals and seven points in seven games in the U20 2018 World Junior Championship. That’s against the best competition at his age group and he took home a silver medal. In the SHL he was playing against men. The NHL would be the next testing ground for this talented center. To date, he hasn’t disappointed proving he is more than up to the challenge. He finished his 2018-19 Calder Cup winning season with 28 goals and 38 assists. Through 25 games this season, he has 29 points (10 goals, 19 assists) and has helped the Canucks to a 12-9-4 record through 25 games.
