Pittsburgh stormed out to an early lead with two goals in the first period, and ended with five goals while shutting out Philadelphia in their Game 4 win. Evgeni Malkin was a key piece to the Penguins success with two points (one goal, one assist). He spoke with Russ Cohen after the game.

Malkin has been a mainstay on the Pittsburgh ice since the 2006-07 season. He set a modern NHL record when he scored a goal in each of his first six games. He would go onto win the Calder Cup that year. You’ll find his rookie cards in a number of 2006-07 Upper Deck Hockey products. His rookie season came when Fleer also held an NHL license.

In addition to winning the Calder Cup, he is a three time Stanley Cup champion, winning the Conn Smythe Trophy during the team’s 2009 run. He also has one Hart Trophy, two Art Ross Trophys, the Ted Lindsay Award and seven All-Star selections. You’ll be hard pressed to not find his cards in any Upper Deck NHL product from his rookie season to today.
