Soccer Future Watch: Antoine Griezmann Soccer Cards, Atlético Madrid – Antoine Griezmann is one of the greatest stars and winners of his generation. After starting youth play with Entente Charnay et Macon 71 and then Macon, Griezmann earned the attention of Real Sociedad and migrated from France to Spain to join their youth academy.
Graduating from that program to the top squad in 2009, Griezmann proved instrumental in helping Real Sociedad earn promotion to La Liga. Improvement across his initial seasons peaked for Griezmann in 2013-14 with 16 goals and 3 assists in 35 matches. Inevitably, Griezmann attracted the interest of Atlético Madrid, who acquired his services for the next season.
From that point forward, Griezmann has never finished a season in worse than third place. He posted 22 goals in each of his first two seasons in the new jersey. Griezmann led Atlético Madrid to the 2017-18 UEFA Europa League title and 2018 UEFA Super Cup, as well as a runner-up finish in the 2015-16 UEFA Champions League.
Longstanding rumors of a move to Barcelona became real in 2019. Griezmann scored several key goals for his new team over the next few years, especially en route to the 2020-21 Copa del Rey championship. But the overall numbers were off a bit. A return to Atlético Madrid, initially on a loan, proved just the tonic to revive Griezmann’s career. It was his best season ever in 2022-23 with 15 points and 16 assists in 38 matches.
Having initially suited up for France’s senior squad in 2014, Griezmann has been equally instrumental on the global stage. Setting up or scoring eight of the 14 French goals in the 2018 World Cup, Griezmann was named man of the match in the final as he led his country to the pinnacle of the soccer world. Griezmann would be key in getting them to the final four years later as well. Whether on the world stage or in league play, Griezmann has thrilled fans with a versatile and intelligent style that has proven conducive to winning.
Griezmann has cards and inserts dating back to 2010. He is represented in a great many brands: Select, Donruss, Topps, Panini, Immaculate Collection and Score FIFA. Match Attax is among the treasured designations. Griezmann also has a great deal of memorabilia on the market, much of it autographed just like his cards.
