The honor means that all three will see an uptick in demand for their collectibles. This happens to most border-line players upon being selected. The primary reason is that the, “HOF” inscription can now accompany their signature.

I recently spoke with TRISTAR Productions president, Jeff Rosenberg, about the impact being inducted would have on the trio’s memorabilia.

For some players, adding the “HOF” inscription for the first time can be an emotional experience. This was the case for Bagwell. According to Rosenberg’s partner, who was with Bagwell when he learned the news, said “He hesitated for a moment, then did it and had the wow expression on his face. It was an emotional moment for him, and he was overwhelmed by it.”

Asked who he thinks will see the biggest spike in demand for their collectibles, Rosenberg believes Bagwell fares better than Raines and Rodriguez in that regard. When asked why, he said, “I think Bagwell will have the largest fan base show up in Cooperstown, so that’s an impact on his memorabilia. I think he’ll ultimately get the biggest bang because of a bigger fan base, but they’re all fairly close.”

With TRISTAR based in HoustonBagwell’s induction as an Astro is specialHobby Musings: Jeff Bagwell, 2017 HOF Class See Hobby Spike. Much like it was when Craig Biggio was inducted in 2015. While describing the two events as “similar experiences”, Rosenberg admitted Biggio’s induction was a little different. Reason being, that he was the first player to go in as a member of the Astros.

That being said, he thinks the memorabilia fervor for Bagwell will be equal to that of Biggio. Rosenberg elaborated, “Bagwell’s  loved, respected and revered in this area. People can’t get enough of him.”

Jeff Bagwell’s First Public Signing Since Induction

Bagwell will be appearing at the TRISTAR Houston Show on February 12th. The company website states that it is “Bagwell’s first public sports collectors show appearance since 1999”. As a result, Rosenberg is anticipating a large demand and potential sellout of his autograph and photograph tickets.

Unfortunately for Astros fans, Craig Biggio is not appearing at this particular show. However, Rosenberg did voice his hopes of having the two of them together sometime in the future. “It’s something we would love to put together, especially here in Houston. I think it would be huge and unbelievable.”

TRISTAR will have a a wide variety of items on hand for fans to purchase for Bagwell’s signing. Among them will be memorabilia commemorating Bagwell’s HOF induction. For more information, you can visit the TRISTAR website.
