Future Watch: Milos Teodosic Rookie Basketball Cards, ClippersFuture Watch: Milos Teodosic Rookie Basketball Cards, Clippers – Five point guards were taken in the first 10 picks of the 2017 NBA Draft. Three of those players are among the top five rookies in assists per game. Sneaking into the top five is a 30-year-old rookie for the Clippers who wasn’t drafted at all. Milos Teodosic was signed by the Clippers after the draft. His 4.9 assists per game have him fourth among rookies. After 10 seasons in various European leagues, Teosodic is in the States and making an impact on the NBA.

Teosodic has enjoyed a storied basketball career in Europe. He spent his first four professional seasons (2007-2011) playing for Olympiacos in the Greek Basketball League. His best statistical year in Greece came in 2009-2010. That season, he averaged 13.4 points, 4.9 assists, 2.5 rebounds and 1.8 steals. Olympiacos would make the EuroLeague Final Four, but eventually lost in the final to FC Barcelona.

The next six seasons from 2011-2017 would see Teodosic play for CSKA Moscow in the Russian League. In his first season, he would lead the team to the EuroLeague Final where they lost to his former team. Teodosic would eventually lead CSKA Moscow to a EuroLeague Final win in 2016. He was stellar in the title game, scoring 19 points. He also added seven assists, five rebounds and two steals.

The Serbian national has won six medals representing his country in various events. Most recently, he earned a silver medal for the men’s team at the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro. There had been rumors Teodosic would join the NBA at some point, and his performance against the best of the NBA in Rio gave scouts some good tape to evaluate.

Standing 6’5”, Teodosic has the height to play both guard positions. He lacks the lateral quickness to be an elite defender, but at 30 he’s developed enough instincts to not be a complete sieve. Offensively, he’s a gifted passer. He’s capable of getting into the paint, drawing a defender and kicking to an open shooter. From deep, Teodosic is shooting 36% this season. He’s made at least one three-pointer in his last 14 games.

This season, Teodosic has played in 34 games for the Clippers. He missed 22 games early this season with a plantar fascia injury in his foot. Lately, he’s been a solid contributor for the Clippers as they look to make a run for a playoff spot in a historic Western Conference playoff race. Over his last five games, he’s averaging 10.8 points, 4.4 assists, 3.4 rebounds and 1.0 steals. His 43% shooting percentage from behind the arc over that span has also been impressive.

At 30, don’t expect Teodosic to spend a decade in the NBA. His current contract with the Clippers is for two years. If he can keep up his current play, there’s a good chance he’ll be extended. The Clippers certainly play second fiddle to the Lakers in Los Angeles, but they’re in a better position to make the playoffs this season. There’s some good value on Teodosic’s cards this season, and if he can help his team make a playoff run, there might be a nice bump in price.

Milos Teodosic already has some great autographed rookie cards in the market. Collectors can be assured to find NBA licensed rookie cards of Teodosic in 2017-18 Panini NBA basketball card products during the 2017-18 NBA season.
