MLB Future Watch: Triston Casas Baseball Cards, Boston Red Sox – Triston Casas was selected by the Boston Red Sox with the 26th overall selection in the 2018 MLB Draft. This 6’4” first baseman weighs around 252 pounds, and he has home run power. It all started back at American Heritage School in Plantation, Florida.

In high school, he played both corner positions. In two seasons there, he hit .414 with 11 home runs and 53 RBI in 53 games. He then took the step to graduate early to be ready for the MLB Draft. He also played in the Under Armour All-America Game that season and the next.

In 2018, he reported to Rookie League Baseball. He only played in four games, and he had a walk. It was a way to get things started.

In 2019, he started the season in A-Ball and ended the season in Advanced A-Ball with the Greenville Drive. His combined numbers were 25 doubles, 5 triples, 19 home runs with 78 RBO, 3 steals with a .349 on-base percentage, and a .256 batting average. A very solid season.

2020 was a lost season for Casas. He was involved in intra-squad workouts. That fall, he was invited to the Red Sox instructional league and soon after was named the Red Sox top prospect.

In 2021, Casas played in AA and later in AAA for the Worcester Red Sox. His combined numbers were 15 doubles, 3 triples, 14 home runs with 59 RBI with 7 steals, a .394 on-base percentage, and a .279 batting average. After that season, he played in the Arizona Fall League. He was named the starting first baseman for the East Team in the Fall Stars Game.

In 2022, he started in Rookie Ball for reps and then was transferred back to AAA. He hit 20 doubles, 1 triple, and 11 home runs with 38 RBI and 4 steals with a .382 on-base percentage and a .269 batting average. All that in just 76 games. On September 4th, he made his MLB Debut. In 27 games with the Red Sox, he hit .197 with 5 home runs and 12 RBI.

In 2023, Casas was back with the Red Sox. He hit 1 home run with 5 RBI.
