Soccer Future Watch: Alejandro Balde Soccer Cards, FC Barcelona – Alejandro Balde is a Spanish international who mainly plays as a left-back for Barcelona. The 19-year-old Catalonian began his youth career at Espanyol before moving to Barcelona at the age of 8.

At Barcelona, Balde impressed coaches with his natural ability and quickly rose through the ranks at the club. In July 2021, Balde signed a 3-year contract with Barcelona which includes a €500m release clause. In September 2021, he made his first-team debut against Getafe at the age of 17, becoming the youngest player to make his debut for the club in over 18 years.

Balde is known for his speed, athleticism, and excellent defensive skills. He is also comfortable going forward and contributing to the attack. Barcelona’s manager has shown his trust and confidence in Balde. Xavi made him a key part of the team that became 2022/23 La Liga Champions.

Balde has often started ahead of the experienced and decorated Jordi Alba. He’s been trusted to play at right-back and in attack as a leftwinger on a few occasions. Balde currently has 6 assists in the 2022/23 La Liga season. He scored his first professional goal against Espanyol in May 2023.

Balde was also selected in the Spanish 2022 World Cup squad over other experienced and established players, where he made his national team debut and featured four times.

Balde’s current contract with Barcelona expires in 2024. The club are currently in discussions on a new long-term deal which will likely include a huge release clause to deter interested rivals. Interest from European giants will only get stronger as the player develops and matures.

Soccer Future Watch: Alejandro Balde Cards Worth Collecting

The 2021/22 season was the first time we saw Balde rookie cards in both Topps and Panini releases including Select. This includes Balde autos in Topps releases, such as the 2020/21 Merlin Chrome Ball case hit which is a unique card to own.

Prices of Balde cards are relatively low for a teenager who is already established in elite football at one of the biggest clubs in the world.

Look out for the Golden Boy Award 2023 coming this fall where Balde has a chance to win. His name will become more present in the media as this gets closer.
