Formula 1 Future Watch: Lando Norris, McLaren – Lando Norris is a British racing driver, currently competing for McLaren. The 23-year-old began his racing career in karting at the age of seven. He quickly showed his talent and went on to win numerous championships in the junior categories.
In 2016, Norris made his debut in single-seater racing in the Formula Renault 2.0 Northern European Cup. He won the championship in his first season and followed it up with another championship win in the Formula Renault Eurocup the following year. In 2018, Norris made his debut in Formula 2 where he finished the season as runner-up, with an impressive four wins and 10 podiums.
Norris made his Formula One debut in 2019 for McLaren. He had a solid rookie season, scoring points in 11 of the 21 races and finishing 11th in the drivers’ championship. In 2020, Norris stepped up his game and secured his first podium finish with a third-place finish at the Austrian Grand Prix. He went on to score two more podiums and finished the season ninth in the drivers’ championship.
Norris has only continued to impress in Formula One, comprehensively beating his teammate with almost faultless performances race after race. These performances have firmly cemented him as one of the finest drivers on the entire grid.
Norris is also known for his outgoing personality and engaging presence on social media, with 1.3 m followers on Twitch. Norris’s combination of talent and charisma has made him one of the most popular and well-known drivers on the grid.
F1 Future Watch: Lando Norris Cards Worth Collecting
Some of Norris’s most popular cards are included in the 2020 Topps Chrome, where Norris has his rookie cards that are highly sought after by collectors. There are also autograph options in both Dynasty and Chrome, which are very popular and are a great hold due to their scarcity.
The start of the 2023 season indicates that McLaren has one of the weakest cars on the grid. Red Bull amongst others will be keeping a very close eye on Norris. I would not be surprised to see him move on to another team in 2024 or 2025 unless McLaren can bring significant improvements to make the car competitive and match the talent of Norris. It seems extremely unlikely at this given time. This will further grow the popularity of past cards with new fans from these bigger teams.
