Future Watch: Mecole Hardman Rookie Football Cards, Chiefs – Mecole Hardman was drafted 56th overall by the Kansas City Chiefs in the 2019 NFL Draft. The 5-11 receiver has a lot of speed and talent and he could have an instant impact this season for the Chiefs.
Hardman played his college ball for the University of Georgia. The Bulldogs used him right away in 2016. He played in 11 games. He did a little bit of everything including kick returns and special teams on the defensive side.
In 2017, he played in 15 games, but he only had one start. He still managed to 25 catches for 418 yards and six touchdowns. Two of those were rushing touchdowns. At the end of the season, he was named to the 2017 SEC Fall Academic Honor Roll.
In 2018, he started in five of 14 games. He had 34 catches for 532 yards and seven touchdowns. He was a few kick returns shy of being ranked #1 in the nation and he was the best punt returner in the SEC with a 20.1 average. He was named to the Paul Hornung Award Honor Roll. He was voted to the ESPN.com All-America First Team as a kick returner. SI.com voted him to their second team also as a kick returner. Also voted to the 2018 AP & Coaches All-SEC second team.
He ran an outstanding 4.33-40, yard dash at the 2019 NFL Combine. He could have stopped after that. Teams noticed.
